venus officially stations retrograde in scorpio today, october 3, where she’ll begin retracing her steps before eventually backing into libra and stationing direct on november 13.
and as if that wasn’t enough, mercury will be joining her at the end of the month, stationing retrograde in scorpio on october 24 and also turning direct on november 13.
so yeah. 😭 we’re in for a little bit of a doozy.

but, it’s probably not going to be a doozy for the reasons the internet usually makes retrogrades sound terrifying. and because i apparently don’t know how to do anything halfway, i spent the last few weeks writing an entire three-part series to help us navigate the story from beginning to end.
the violence of becoming is my guide to the 2026 venus + mercury retrogrades — not from the usual your ex is coming back, don’t sign contracts, prepare for chaos perspective, but through a much more interesting question:
what happens when the person you’ve become has to reconsider the things the person you used to be once wanted?
venus speaks to our values, relationships, money, pleasure, worth, attraction, and desire. and with this retrograde beginning in scorpio before eventually returning to libra — while mercury retraces some of that scorpio territory too — there’s a pretty clear storyline running underneath all of this.
we’re looking underneath the desire before we renegotiate the terms.
and that’s about as much as i’m giving you here. 😂 because i spent approximately one million words unpacking the rest in the guides already.
consider this your little preview — and your invitation to go read the whole thing.
a little look inside the violence of becoming.
three parts, each taking us a little deeper — from understanding the energy, to following the timeline, to finding where the story lives in your own chart.

part 01 · the energy
the things we wanted before we knew what they would cost us.
the foundation of the series. we’re unpacking venus, mercury, scorpio + libra, the deeper themes underneath this retrograde, and some of the previous astrological chapters that may help us understand why certain storylines feel familiar now.
“sometimes becoming doesn’t require us to stop wanting the thing. it requires us to stop needing the thing to save us.”
part 02 · the timeline
you can only keep the truth buried for so long.
your map for the months ahead. we’re following the major dates, repeated aspects, revelations, and turning points from the first shadow all the way through the final pass — so you can follow the storyline instead of treating every transit like an isolated event.
“information is not instruction.”
part 03 · the houses
this is where it gets personal. we’re finding where venus + mercury are actually moving through your birth chart, with a house-by-house field guide for recognizing which area of your life may be asking to be reconsidered.
“you can honor every version of yourself without continuing to live by all of her decisions.”
and that’s all i’m giving y’all for free. 😭
the point of this series isn’t to predict what’s going to happen to you over the next few months though, it’s to give you something to come back to while you’re living it.
because you may not recognize the storyline the first time it appears. that’s kind of the point. retrogrades involve revisiting territory, and sometimes it isn’t until the second or third pass that we realize what we’ve actually been looking at.
so save the dates. keep your receipts. pay attention to what repeats. and most importantly, don’t make your past self wrong for whatever comes up.
she wanted what she wanted with the information she had.
the question now is whether you still do.
please enjoy the violence of becoming.
with love,
