i was in my [solidcore] class today doing these one-legged split squats. one foot grounded, one foot on the moving carriage, holding onto the grey strap for stability. and if you’ve ever done them, you already know your body starts shaking almost immediately. not because you’re weak, but because you’re being asked to stabilize yourself in a completely new way.

in the middle of the set, my coach said something that really stuck with me. she framed it like this: sometimes you’re holding onto something that you think you need, but it’s actually what’s keeping you from realizing how strong you are without it. and the “upgrade” (or as we like to call it in class, “amplification”) in that moment was to let go of that grey strap and do the exercise without it’s assistance.
so i tried.
and the second i did, i started shaking. it felt unstable, unfamiliar, like my body didn’t quite trust itself yet. so instinctively, i grabbed back on. and in that moment, it hit me how often we do that in our lives.
we get the nudge to let something go — a pattern, a person, a version of ourselves, a safety net — and we know we’re ready. but the second it feels a little shaky, a little uncertain, a little too real, we go right back to what’s familiar. not because it’s right, just because it feels stable.
but then i tried again, and this time i stayed with the shake a little longer. i let it feel uncomfortable. and eventually, my body adjusted. i found my balance. and not only was i fine without the strap, i actually felt way stronger. more engaged, more present, more in control of the movement itself.
and i haven’t been able to stop thinking about how much that mirrors this moment we’re in right now.
because if i zoom out, it makes so much sense why this is coming up. we’re coming out of an eclipse season that, for a lot of us, felt foggy, emotional, and honestly a little disorienting. we had the push and pull between pisces season and virgo energy, a mercury retrograde moving through water, old feelings resurfacing, things circling back around that we thought we were done with. it wasn’t a time for clear answers — it was a time for processing.
and now, slowly but surely, things aren’t fully clear… but they’re clearer.

and now, slowly but surely, things aren’t fully clear… but they’re clearer.
happy spring!! get outside and touch some grass
i always say the first moon cycle after eclipse season is the most illuminating, especially that first full moon. and with the full moon in libra coming up on apirl 1st, this is where we start to see — what feels aligned versus what doesn’t, what feels reciprocal versus what feels draining, what feels like truth versus what feels like habit.
at the same time, we just had a saturn cazimi, which is essentially a moment where saturn’s energy becomes hyper-clear. it brings up themes of responsibility, direction, and long-term self-leadership. and with so much aries energy right now, there’s this underlying push to actually do something with that clarity.
not perfectly. not with everything figured out.
but with willingness.
because aries doesn’t wait for certainty. aries doesn’t wait to feel 100% ready. aries moves because something in it says, “i’m ready enough.” it’s the energy of taking the step while you’re still shaking, letting go before you feel fully stable, choosing yourself before you have all the proof.
and that’s exactly what that moment on the machine felt like.
the shaking didn’t mean i couldn’t do it. it meant i was learning how to hold myself in a new way.

so if you’re in a space right now where you know you need to let something go, but part of you is hesitating because it feels unstable, because it feels unfamiliar, because it doesn’t feel “secure” yet — just know that the discomfort isn’t a sign that you’re not ready.
it’s a sign that you are.
and as we move toward this full moon, i would really pay attention to where you’re being asked to loosen your grip. not forcefully, not all at once, but honestly. where are you holding onto something out of habit instead of alignment? where are you convincing yourself you still need something that you’ve actually outgrown? where are you mistaking familiarity for support?
because the truth is, you are a lot stronger than you think you are.
and sometimes the only way to realize that is to let go of the strap — and take the step anyway.
